I've taken the advice from my past submissions, and did my best to adapt and provide a better query letter here. Here goes my third attempt. Any and all feedback is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Dear [Agent],

Because of your interest in dark academia and urban fantasy, I think you would be interested in Wrath of Omega, a 90,000 word thriller where a teen works to find the value in his life while protecting his family from the malicious world of exorcism.

Touya Omega’s life has crawled to a standstill in the last two years. He is a few months from graduating high school, but all he can think about is his mother losing her will to leave the house, his father working himself to the bone to pay bills, and his older sister. Where the problems began. She was the star of the family. Wise beyond her years, charismatic, and had a promising future in business. All things he lacked, but she was his anchor, his best friend. All of that went up in flames when she slipped into a state of suspended animation.

The medical professionals had no answers for him, telling his family to lower their expectations. Touya did just that. He took the pain lying down. He lost hope of seeing her with each passing day. His helplessness festered into a passionate self hatred. A disgust with the lack of control over his own life.

Then, mystical creatures cornered him in an alley. Fire breathing doppelgangers, sharp tongued beasts and psychic cats. They united under their shared desire to claim his soul. An Omega’s soul. For once, Touya fought back, and fought his way out of that alley. Of the three, the psychic cat gave him answers.

These creatures are known as spirits and demons, shaped by the thoughts and contours of the human mind. They feast on souls for nourishment, and his sister’s far from the first case of it happening. However, humans decay without their souls within months. Why hasn’t his sister’s body decayed after two years?

Touya seeks help from the world’s only defense against these forces, the Exorcist Agency. An estate where people enrich themselves in the studies of the supernatural. Spirits, demons, contracts, bonds, the history of these intangible forces bleeding into everyday life.

Touya goes for a dive into the Agency’s database. He finds documentation of the oldest records of exorcism, to the most mundane cases, but not a single word about his sister nor her condition.

From his peers, he learns the Omega name is a lure to some, a curse to others, and a mystery to most, yet, all records of its history were erased from the books. Touya’s sister was collateral in this silent war, so he thrusts himself into the fray to save her. The key to her recovery, his family’s recovery. With unknown forces calling for his death, can he find the will to stand tall and protect his livelihood?

Readers of A Study in Drowning by Ava Reed and The Library at Hellebore by Cassandra Khaw will enjoy this book for its exploration of uncovering hidden secrets, dark family legacies, body horror, and the study of the supernatural.
