Any restaurants hiring?

Been trying to find a job with minimal luck so I’m thinking of cold calling some restaurants in the area

Feeling defeated because I can't find a summer job

I just finished my first year of university and didn't apply to any internships because I was planning to switch my major so my plan was to hopefully get a part-time job somewhere local for the summer. I've been home for about 2 weeks and have gotten so many rejections/ghostings that I genuinely have no idea what to do. I had a group interview with a friend a few weeks back and got rejected a few days ago while my friend got hired for the same role today and I actually feel like crying. I really want to be happy for him but I honestly thought the interview went well and because I worked in high school, I also have more experience than him. I don't think I'm "better" by any means but I'm just confused because when they rejected me they said all positions were filled and then hired him after. I really wanted the job too, the environment sounded perfect and it was for one of my favourite companies so the rejection stings a lot. I don't event think I'll be able to get an internship next year because my GPA is so low right now so I feel so hopeless about everything.

How do I get better at group interviews?

I had a job interview 2 weeks ago and it was my second group interview. The first was a few months ago and it didn't go the best so I tried preparing a bit better this time. I went with a friend and I left feeling that it went okay-ish. They told us they would let us know in a week or two so I was holding out hope until a few days when I got a rejection email saying all positions were filled. It was a part-time position at a new place opening up and I was honestly pretty sad about it because I really wanted to work there. Then today my friend told me he got a callback and I think the interview is what made the difference cuz out of the two of us, I have more experience. I honestly thought I did a good job at the interview and I thought he did too so I'm just sort of confused.
