DPR turns away lifeguards
The chatter here is that lifeguard is a great summer job for young people and there's a lifeguard shortage.
My 16 year old completed lifeguard training through DPR. He attended a job fair and was rejected because he would be out of town for more than 1 week this summer. This requirement was never posted in the job description.
I guess DPR would rather close pools than work with the schedule of a temporary worker.
