Improving memory? Newbie
I'm a recent migrant to SillyTavern. The site I used before (care to guess?) ran a finetune of DS 0324 with a 30k context window and it was like magic - remembered stuff from hundreds of messages previous, stayed coherent, I was having chats up to 2000+ messages with the character staying consistent, slowly evolving over time, and being pretty damn good memory-wise with only occasional chat history updates at 500+ messages.
I'm currently using Rocinante X from TheDrummer through Featherless with 32k context and it falls apart after only a few messages- doesn't remember where we are, what we're doing, contradicting what it just said. I've tried others and they're worse, Rocinante being the best I've tried so far. I tried CharMemory and Vector Storage but neither was great. I'm wondering if there's some settings I can tweak or turn on that'll help. Sorry!
PS. I've been experimenting for about two days, checking FAQs and tutorials, and I just haven't found anything that makes a meaningful difference; I've checked the posts, I've tried all I know how to try, so it's not like I'm coming here and asking a question I could have looked up.
