Really enjoying the new campaign and task force mode. This one seems unfairly difficult, however, and I'm wondering if it is bugged or it's really meant to be this way.

I added two new ships to my task force before the battle as well as some aircraft. The new ships spawn in a separate task force, closer to the enemy. The enemy forces immediately launch a helicopter (or it's in the air at mission start), which picks up my ships on surface radar right away, and right away the Kirov is firing missiles my way. There's no friendly air assets anywhere in range to shoot down the helicopter in time to avoid detection. The Kirov is about 100 miles away from my newer ships - close enough for it to fire, but not for me to fire back. In any case, my two new ships can't take the combined ASM strikes from the Soviet SAG.

I'm wondering if I'm just missing something, or if I was supposed to put all my points into aircraft (my task force is just two ships from the start of the game - a Belknap and a Kidd).
