Free Talk Sunday: Dogs Days of Summer Edition

As has been the case the last few weeks, I have been out all weekend and not a whole lot has been active with the Flyers. Friendly reminder that these threads are meant for anyone on the sub to talk about absolutely whatever in an open forum, Flyers related or not.

Free Talk Sunday: Summer Monday Edition

Hey all, we are at pretty much the most dead time of summer for the Flyers right now, so just about nothing of note is going on with the team currently. At least we got to experience a little bit of hockey this last week with the Hlinka Gretzky, so that was nice.

Free Talk Sunday: Dead of Summer Edition

Apologies for not posting last week, been doing some traveling and honestly figured there wasn't too much going on.

We are officially at the quiet part of the summer, with all notable RFA players signed and most trades and UFA signings coming to a halt. The Flyers ended up having a ultimately mellow offseason, given the Carlsson offersheet was matched in particular.

Free Talk Sunday: Summer Wind-Down Edition

We are entering the portion of the summer where MHL news really starts to die down. Although the Flyers still have their RFAs to sign and other moves are always possible, it seems as though the offseason is likely going to slow down significantly from this point forward. Unfortunately, the big move of the summer in the Leo Carlsson offer sheet didn't bear any rewards, with Anaheim matching the offer to keep him. The Flyers notable additions of the summer are Woll, Benoit, and Accairi, with the subtraction of Ersson, Andrae, and Hathaway.

How are you feeling heading into next season?

Free Talk Sunday: Noel Acciari Edition

Soooo, pretty big week for the Flyers. The Flyers landed coveted free agent Noel Acciari to a 2 year deal with an AAV of 2.8, adding a right handed faceoff man to the 4th line. He is set to be a replacement Hathaway, although we could see him spending some time at Center taking over Glendening's role and having Couturier play on the left wing. Danny doing more solid work finding guys who fill needs and fit into Tocchet's systems well.

Oh, we also offer sheeted Leo Carlsson to the biggest cap hit in the history of the league and Giroux might be coming home.

Free Talk Sunday: Post Draft Edition

It was certainly a crazy week in the NHL, with too many blockbuster trades to count and rumors involving superstar players still swirling rapidly. The Flyers have pretty much entirely stayed out of the action up to this point, only making the Woll trade and moving back on draft night to pick Maksim Sokolovskii. Free Agency hits this Wednesday, so it's probably fair to expect even more movement in the coming days.

Free Talk Sunday: Official Offseason Edition

The Carolina Hurricanes are the 2026 Stanley Cup Champions, and with that the 2025-26 NHL Season has come to an end. The draft is coming this Friday with the Flyers currently holding the 21st overall pick, with trade rumors plenty around surrounding the team. Should be a really fun week or two surrounding the team

Free Talk Sunday: Cup in the building Edition

Well, we are getting very close to the end of hockey season! The Cup is in the building in Vegas tonight with Carolina being 1 win away from winning it all, if not game 7 will take place on Wednesday.

After that, the NHL offseason should start to pick up very quickly. The Flyers famous 6/23 is just over 1 week away, the draft taking place later that week, and free agency not long after that. Briere is rumored to want to be aggressive this offseason, with our GM seemingly with endless irons in the fire. Should be an interesting couple of weeks?

What's your bold prediction for the Flyers offseason?

Free Talk Sunday: Draft Combine Monday Edition

The Stanley Cup Finals continue on, with hockey news starting to pick up a bit more. The Golden Knights currently lead Carolina 2-1 with game 4 starting tomorrow night in Las Vegas. Other than that the biggest news of the week was likely Dylan Larkin requesting a trade out of Detroit.he has a full NTC and the Flyers aren't believed to be on his shortlist, but things change quickly in the offseason and it's hard to belive Danny won't try for him

Free Talk Sunday: Cup Final Edition

The Cup Final matchup is set! The Carolina Hurricanes Will face off against the Golden Knights to see who wins it all this year. Both teams have had fairly dominant postseasons up to this point, should be some pretty intense hockey to close out the year.

The Word Championships also came to a close today, with Martone and Berglund both performing admirably to represent their respective countries.

Free Talk Sunday: Conference Finals Monday Edition

Sorry for the late post everyone, been a busy weekend.

The Conference Finals are well underway, with some surprising results to say the least. The Hurricanes lost their first of the series in blowout fashion, conceding their first lost of the postseason (although the series is 1-1 now after a big OT win). Vegas is currently blowing out the cup favorite Avs, with a commanding 3-0 series lead. Although nothing beats playoff hockey, it sucks to not get to watch the Flyers anymore, and it'll be exciting to see what the Flyers might be up to in what should be an interesting offseason.

Anyone have any fun plans for the offseason?
