Time to get a better upper as my 20” BCA bolt is just avg.
Want something 16-20” that is accurate, good quality without breaking the bank.
I saw a Wilson Combat tactical hunter that fits the budget.

Good until I get another full kit.
Using BFD 3.5 for my software.
I am trying this as its supposed to be easier than BFD 3.5 and more than BFD.
I am using Cakewalk Sonar and Next and having issues.
I solved most. Thought I am having half open High Hat mapping issues.
I am using a Nitro Max with a Drumic high hat controller.
With the Nitro Max module, BFD, BFD 3.5 it all works. With SSD5 i only get open and closed. I spent 2 hours with ChatGBT trying to fix this gia mapping, this and that with no luck.
Seems like CGBT says it’s not compatible at this point.
If anyone can help, great.
Long story short, the safety spring came out. I can get it in, but when I try to put it back together, the spring pops loose. Never has this issue in until it popped out.
Any ideas?
All I can saw is wow.
Now I have a proper snare size and fits my snare stand much better.
Size allows me to play much more natural.
The mesh head feels so nice. A really nice feel.
Works perfectly with my Nitro Max trigger wise. Just fixed the sensitivity and tightened the head slightly.
Makes the other drums look so small now.
But this will work until I move and get better.
I was thinking of getting the top Roland that is realistic size but not sure now.
Dolby Drums I can build the entire kit on my own and get Lemon cymbals. Using a macbook with a VST eventually full time, so no need for a module.
I am going to see how this holds up until January before deciding.
Getting a snare in a few weeks as a Bday present for my Alesis Nitro.
Any good? Better than the stock snare?
O went ahead and got REAPER and its sounds good but seems like you only get one kit and and can’t do custom kits.
Anything out there better on a budget?

On my Nitro kit I have several “kits” based on the band or genre I am playing.
When I play my Nitro Max high hat through the powered speaker, the sound of hitting the plastic is so loud. Wearing IEMs I don’t hear it much.
Anyway to dampen the sound?
So I purchased a 22” cymbal arm and moved my 2nd crash and ride to slightly different positions. It now feels very smooth for me and a similar feel I had behind an acoustic kit last week.
Getting a 13” snare in a few months and I am done until I get a higher end electric kit. Higher end Roland and most likely the one that looks lime a real acoustic kit.
But for now, I am getting my groove back after 45 years. Feels great!
Not ready to join a cover band yet but having fun and a little stress relief playing.

Love to get a extra module soon to add another cymbal and pad for a cow bell. Have extra rack stuff and more room soon.

Made some upgrades, playing and tweaking and using ChatGBT to tweak.
My last tweet might switch the right crash with my ride. Ride will be closer to my right tom and what seems to be more newer style setup.
I ordered a 22” arm to Crash will be a bit higher and more with I want.
Right now it feels great and setup how I remember and what kits I hopped on for a bit in the 80s.
Any tips or tweeks will be appreciated.

Well got my first upper about 5 weeks ago. Bolt would not close properly with a round in the chamber.
BCA did an RMA. Nee one arrived about 2 weeks ago and same issue. I tried a new Faxon bolt to see if that was the issue and was not. Used a GO Gauge to test and a live round.
Off to send upper number 2 back. If 3rd one fails then I am getting a refund or doing a charge back.
My 5.56 upper has been fantastic, this has been a sh!t show.
I have had my controller for just about 2 weeks now and I will say this is fantastic. I can’t be happier using a Nitro Max kit and getting ride of the really mediocre HH pedal.
I am using a Gibraltar 5707 high-hat stand and using the Nito-Hat controller, this is as close as you can get to a regular HH option. Yes the Nitro Max module is limited it is a fantastic option for those of us using this kit.
I just started playing again after a 40yr hiatus.
At some point when I am better and have more room, I will get a really nice e-drum set, hybrid or maybe back to an acoustic kit.
In the mean time, this works well and gets rid of the OEM pedal.
The only kind of small thing is keep it from slightly, slightly rotating even with the velcro straps. It’s more OCD and doesn’t really affect playing.
If you want to use a real HH stand with your Nitro kits, get one asap.

If you have an Alesis Nitro max kit, you know it can be unstable.
Well besides using a Snare stand. I bought a used nitro rack. Added extra crossbars to stabilize the rack. Its a 100 improved. I a going to add some weight possibly after I take the high hat off and use a real HH stand.
But it pretty damn stable now.
