Razer BlackShark V3 Pro (PCMR Edition :p), they're good.

Some months have passed since receiving the Razer BlackShark V3 Pro in the Razer x PCMR Advent Giveaway, and I thought it would be good to share how they’ve held up. I’ve had very little experience with wireless headsets before, so this was a big change from my long‑time Philips SHP9500 + M‑Audio Super DAC setup. That wired combo has always been my competitive go‑to, but now I mostly use it for media consumption while the V3 Pro has taken over for gaming.

The biggest surprise is how the V3 Pro, despite being closed‑back, delivers a soundstage that feels almost open‑back wide. In CS2 the positional accuracy is Razer sharp, footsteps and cues are easy to track, and in RTS games like Sins of a Solar Empire 2 or Supreme Commander audio cues stand out more clearly. Dying Light revealed subtle environmental sounds I hadn’t noticed before, and Cyberpunk 2077 is a whole other level of immersion with deep bass and rich detail.

Comfort is excellent, with padding and clamping force balanced so well that I can forget I’m wearing them. The aviation‑inspired design with PCMR faceplates adds personality, and overall it feels like a headset made for gamers who care about both performance and style.

The microphone is bright and clear out of the box, and with a little tweaking it becomes one of the better mics I’ve used for comms. Software‑wise I usually leave the EQ on Default since most competitive shooters already have built‑in HRTF, and layering extra processing like THX Spatial Audio, Dolby Atmos, or DTS Headphone:X can actually hurt accuracy. ANC is decent enough to block distractions, though not as strong as premium ANC headphones, and firmware updates from Razer keep improving the headset over time.

Compared to my old open‑back setup, the BlackShark V3 Pro makes more sense day to day: it’s wireless, practical, and still delivers the accuracy needed for competitive play. If I had to score them, I’d give a solid 9/10. For anyone serious about competitive gaming who also wants wireless freedom, this headset is easy to recommend.

Player 2 has also been getting a whole lot of worth out of these cans. He plays a wider variety of games than I do, and every time he uses them he’s been praising the experience. That says a lot about how versatile and enjoyable the V3 Pro can be beyond just competitive shooters.

My Current ASUS PC Setup

There is some backstory behind this PC build and I chose that picture since I appreciate that coldness. Very cryogenic. This PC was a big surprise.

Usage:

Mainly I use it to do more advanced rendering, some localised AI-related things, and to play CS2. I gave the PC to my kid, so I need to ask nicely to use it on the occasion. He is the gamer destined to be greater than I will ever be at gaming. In the meantime I need to save to build my own PC, but this PC handles almost anything in a breeze. Having this PC brought positivity and goodness which will always be appreciated.
