The transformation of connacht rugby in the last 10 or so years has been nothing short of amazing. Winning the Pro12, a redeveloped stadium, biggers crowds & engagement and a much bigger profile across the province. The club has been transformed since the 'development province' days.

But are we seeing the same growth at grassroots level?

Why aren't we seeing more schools playing rugby, and more of them to a higher standard, along with new youth and junior clubs emerging in growing towns and suburbs? Places like Oranmore, Knock and other expanding communities seem like they should have the catchment to support this! I know there has been great progress in schools like Summerhill & Marists and some new clubs to boot but I'd argue it should be more. I can think of plenty of areas where the game has declined at a grassroots level too!

Is our player pathway keeping pace with the growth of the professional game, or is grassroots development still lagging behind? If so, what's holding it back? As a fan I sometimes feel this is the biggest factor in making us a truly a sustainable club and a real force to reckoned with long term. Would love to hear others opinions and thoughts?
