I miss the German Rye bread (UK)

Every time I go to Lidl now, I always try to look for them but they're never there. They tasted really good and always paired well with cream cheese or some form of cheese. Anyone know if these will ever be back?

Waitrose seem to sell an alternative version to these but they're more expensive. I'm tempted to give them a try though.

Look who came home! 🥹

I got her from a Japanese proxy service for a good price. 🩷 I will keep her sealed because the packaging design is just so cute!

Something happened in Bali (2004) - My Review as a first time viewer

SPOILER ALERT. Please do not read further if you do not want to be spoiled.

NOTE: This is a long read, so I do apologise if I ramble on for a long time.

I love a K-drama classic, so I decided to watch this one as it was recommended to me a while back.

I liked this K-drama at the beginning and felt sympathy for Soo Jung (FL). I really liked when she was a tour guide because she was strong, smart and thriving. However, as I kept watching, I started to dislike her. She was a doormat and barely stood up for herself. She was indecisive and kept changing who she loved. I wish she had more character development because she seemed like an intelligent person.

Both MLs (Jae Min and In Wook) were cowards and couldn't have a single sensible conversation like grown ups without beating each other up. I felt sympathy for Jae Min due to the abuse he suffered, but I didn't like how he treated Soo Jung. He was forceful towards her. It felt as if there was absolutely no chemistry between those two. He was always shouting and dragging the FL around like a ragdoll. He reminded me of Junpyo from Boys over Flowers.

In Wook treated the FL well and had better chemistry with her. They had a few sweet moments together. However, he was mostly working and ignoring problems + opportunities to get closer to the FL. I understand why Soo Jung lost interest.

To be honest, Soo Jung deserved better than those two. She was happier, stronger, and thriving when she was single. Those two just kept making her miserable because she was always crying when she was around either of them.

Yeong Joo (In Wook's ex) was insufferable at times. She was just plain rude, snotty and was never happy. I feel like we never got the full story of what happened between her and In Wook. I wish there was a redemption arc where she became friends with Soo Jung or she finds someone else that she loves.

Mi hee (FL's friend) was okay, but she was barely happy for the FL. There was way too much jealousy coming from her. She reminded me a bit of Mia's friend from the Princess Diaries (when she was bitter towards Mia).

Soo Jung's brother was irresponsible at the beginning but began to redeem himself in the end, which was nice to see. He was definitely my favourite.

I wasn't a fan of the whole In Wook and Jae Min's older brother dodgy business practice storyline. It felt out of place for In Wook to commit fraud or steal because he was depicted as a respected and responsible employee.

The ending was terrible (and tragic), but expected. Jae Min and Yeong Joo's parents were insufferable. They did not care about their children's happiness and decisions. I do not blame Jae Min for going insane. The poor guy needed help because his arranged marriage and family were clearly suffocating him. The same goes for Yeong Joo. I feel like Yeong Joo needed someone to rely on because she seemed lonely.

Something started and ended in Bali (If you want to be spoiled...the FL and both MLs die in the end).

Overall, this K-drama wasn't too bad. Yeah, most of the characters were unlikeable, but it was still a fun watch regardless.

Review aside, the cast did a really great job and the OST was lovely. I'll definitely be adding the OST to my playlist! :)

The old interior design, flip phones and early 2000s fashion were very nostalgic to see, and I liked some of the outfits that were worn by Soo Jung.

What are your thoughts on this older K-drama classic?

These are from 2001 or 2002? They're called Animal Crossing - Let's make a forest (Mori o Tsukurou! in Japanese). I'm unsure if these were ever released worldwide.

I love the classic AC houses and would love to buy one to put on display! I know these were probably directed at children, but I just love these little sets and how there are so many variations of them! :)

Do you own any of the sets or figurines? If not, would you want Nintendo to reproduce or make something similar to these sets?

Pictures are not mine.
