Stylist Recs for Brunette Hair
Looking for someone in the DMV area that can do dimensional brunette hair and is less than an hour away from NW DC. I have dark brown hair and have started getting grays to the point that I have to do a root touch up every 6-8 weeks or so. My stylist usually touches up my roots and ends with demi-permanent color and then tones or does a gloss. I have been to three different colorists over the last few months, and no matter what I do they cannot seem to help turning my hair a shade of red when trying to match my natural color. During my last appointment, my stylist tried to tone with blues and greens but still somehow I came out with an auburn color. Maybe it’s due to old color, but I’m looking for someone who specializes in brunettes and who can fix the red shade and chart me on a new path going forward. I’d like yo try something more dimensional with some highlights like the photo I included, but I’m honestly afraid to ask for this when I feel like my colorists can’t get the base color right. The worst part is I’m paying $200-300 every time even though the purpose of this service in mind mind is to cover up my grays and keep my color close-ish to my natural shade.
