Regarding the Opening of the Season Finale
Not sure if this has come up in other finale discussions (and maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places) but did anyone else do a double-take in the season finale?
More specifically, did anyone else question as to why Kusimayu was the only one shown? Of course this could be a stylistic (and runtime-based) choice to only show one person doing the joining (and beautifully done of course) but doesn't Laxmi seem like another type of person who would volunteer for the joining as well?
Granted, we could also just end up starting Season 2 and we learn that more individuals beyond Kusimayu have committed to the joining but I thought it was interesting that they mentioned Laxmi giving a Carol a call after Manousos's testing. Part of it is probably just for the gag (and also the established fact that she would point fingers at her) but just some food for thought.
I could totally see them playing out Laxmi as a hypocrite in regards to the joining next season in which she amidts she's scared of the joining and would rather "play family" than actually become part of the hive. It'd give her character a standout moment, explain that she may just be judgemental because of projection, and also differentiate her from some of the other survivors.
