We are now onto the 2010 weekly single release programme, GOOD Fridays for the build up to MBDTF. This is any of the 16 songs released as part of the 2010 version of the programme. You can see the full list here. Please note this only includes the 2010 edition (including Christmas in Harlem) and not the 3 songs released in 2016 to promote TLOP as these all made it onto the album (Of course some for 2010 did as well but 🤫)

Here is some information about the song:
It was produced by Ye and features Kid Cudi, Pusha T, John Legend, Lloyd Banks and Ryan Leslie

It samples the drums from the 1973 song “Living Together Is Keeping Us Apart” by Clarence Reid from the beat switch and onwards

Ye also sampled these same drums on Drive Slow from Late Registration 5 years prior

CDDF was sampled by Travis Scott on his 2012 song “Lights (Love Sick)” which was allegedly the first song by him that caught Ye’s attention

It was the 9th release and came out on October 1st 2010 despite Ye saying he would suspend it for that week

The initial release version was slightly different, most notably having a different vocal effect for the “all the models to the floor right now” parts. the updated and more known version is about 13 seconds longer and the file was just swapped out on the website

In 2019 Complex ranked it as the best song from the releases

In 2025 at the Grammy’s After PARTY (IN LA🤔#JamesThinks) Ye played the song while looking to be in good spirits

We are now onto Ye’s 4th studio album and it’s pretty much what you see is what you get as there are no regional exclusives but I will say Pinocchio story (but a lot of y’all seem to be big fans of it judging by yesterday) is a bit of a copout if voted for worst but again it’s up to you

The 88-Keys reference version makes a rare appearance in the worst of section on the tracker but I honestly don’t think it’s that bad, just has a weird vocal effect

A version with not one but TWO Big Sean verses exists according to him and he begged Ye to give him the song during the 808s era and thank the heavens he didn’t

Consequence also worked on a reference track, which Ye ended up using parts of (or at least the flow)

Rihanna recorded a verse for a remix that was supposed to release as a single on Jan 27 2009 but never did and remains as an unheard grail

The song also has a music video featuring Ye and a young Rihanna

The song eventually released as a single on 24 March 2009, I believe to coincide with the release of the music video release since the cover is themed around it although Rihanna does not feature on the song

There is kind of a remix though as when Ye performed the album in 2015 in the Hollywood Bowl a version with added brass, string, and piano production was played

Even later during the vultures era a beat made by Camper was played on stream by Ty sampling Paranoid but we do not know if he or Ye ever recorded on it

It is a throwaway song recorded during the graduation era that has a hook and has verses from Ye and Jay Z. It has an open verse at the end possibly for one them two or another artist, we don’t really know. Despite this the tracker says it is finished but I don’t personally believe it is just a 1min 20 secs outro

It leaked after a successful blind group buy on July 31 2024 alongside an early demo of We Major called You Again for $1400. Prior to the leak the song was unknown and unheard

It samples the 1976 song “Baby Come Home” by Willie Hutch
