Help me furnish/design my first-floor apartment layout
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for help with furnishing and designing the first floor of my apartment. I’ve attached the floor plan.
The walls and zones need to stay as they are, so I’m mainly looking for advice on furniture placement, flow, lighting, storage, and overall styling.
The space includes:
- Entry area at the bottom left
- Kitchen at the bottom right
- Dining area in the middle/left
- Living room at the top, connected to the terrace
- Small hall/stairs/toilet area on the right side
A few measurements:
Apartment width: 5.03 m
Terrace width: 5.47 m
Total apartment depth: about 10.26 m
Terrace depth: about 1.52 m
Main open living/dining area depth: about 8.19 m
Kitchen zone depth: about 3.29 m
I’m struggling with how to make the open living/dining area feel intentional and well-balanced without changing the layout.
What I’d love help with:
- Best furniture layout for the living room
Where to place the sofa, TV, chairs, rug, etc.
- How to make the dining area work naturally between the kitchen and living room
- Lighting suggestions for the different zones
General styling or layout improvements
A few notes:
- The current walls and zones need to stay
- The terrace entrance should stay easy to access
- I prefer a practical layout with good circulation
- I’d like the space to feel warm, modern, calm, and not too cluttered
Style preference: warm modern, natural materials, neutral colours, wood tones, and a cozy but uncluttered atmosphere.
Any ideas, sketches, or layout suggestions would be really appreciated.
Thanks!
