Efficiency in ICU
Hello! I've been working in the ER/ICU at a specialty hospital for 6 years. Does anyone have any tips and tricks for working smarter in the ICU? Part of our issue is staffing, but I don't expect that to be resolved any time soon. I know that I can take longer with my patients than some of the other techs do, but I don't want to not give them the care they deserve. And some just take more time, even if they're not that sick - like the fearful cats and nervous dogs. I want to be able to take care of my patients emotional and psychological needs too.
All that to say, what are your tips and tricks for just being more efficient in the ICU, working smarter, and setting yourself and your patients up for success?
