So I am already a 4th year IT student and I have been using AI whenever I have difficulties in debugging or just implementing features in my projects. I know I have heard from a lot of people (including my own IT instructor) that it is ok to use AI tools in programming since it's "more productive" but I can't help but doubt my own self-competence because whenever I do try to fix bugs or just implement features, I just have a long and hard time and I just end up using AI like ChatGPT, Claude, etc. From 1st year to now, I've told myself that I would try to code without the help of AI since I don't want to be so reliant on it, because it just feels like I'm lying to myself that I am creating/fixing or even just learning all of this by myself when in fact it was just AI.

So yeah, there's my rant hehe. Keep in mind, I have no problem with people using AI, I think it's a great tool to have and it definitely makes you more productive buts it's just that in my perspective, if your always constantly using AI in creating your projects and in implementing features, it just feels like your riding a bike with AI as the training wheels. Without it, you'll just end up falling down. What do you guys think? What's your view of it?
