AITAH for complaining about a bank employee who treated me like I didn't understand my own finances
This was yesterday and I'm still irritated about it so I figured I'd post here.
I went to the bank to sort out an issue with my account, something pretty straightforward. The guy at the counter was off from the very beginning. Talking slowly, over explaining basic things, and when I asked a specific question about the process he looked genuinely surprised, like he wasn't expecting me to know what I was talking about.
At one point he said "don't worry, these things can be confusing" in this tone that I really didn't appreciate. I hadn't said I was confused. I was asking a perfectly reasonable question. I told him calmly that I understood the process fine and I'd appreciate it if he just answered me directly. He got flustered and his manager nearby stepped in and finished helping me.
On my way out he muttered something to his colleague and they both laughed. I don't know what he said but the timing was obvious. I complained to the manager before leaving. She apologized and said she'd look into it. My cousin who was with me said I probably overreacted and he was just trying to be helpful.
