You spend over 500 bucks and open the boxes to find stuff like this.
Damaged and odd mismatched packaging.
I have had an almost 75% failure rate with automotive parts over the last year alone. I had only once bought a bad new part back in 2018. Within the span of less than 12 months I can't even find a decent power steering pump. Have gone through 6 "new" PS pumps in the past few months, including 2 "new" rack and pinions.
Took 9 o2 Sensors to find two good ones. Sway bar links failing within a month of install. $1,500 bolt on exhaust system from a big name brand, had to be chopped and welded to fit. Mis-boxed parts, warped rotors new out of the box.
I have spent more time on labor swapping out parts multiple times and some of these aren't easy jobs by any means. I even have to spend my own money sending things back and forth when they fail or are damaged from the start.
What do you guys think? Send em back? Spend the time installing and hope for the best with what I have?
Just really disappointed with the current state of quality in regards to the automotive parts world. It takes away from the satisfaction of doing the work yourself just knowing you may have to do it again if the parts are DOA.
