Would I be off base to ask for an exchange?
Hi pottery experts! I just bought a replacement mug online from a pottery company that made my favorite mug of many years. That mug sadly broke in a fall out of the cupboard. The replacement is the same design and glaze as my broken favorite mug, but unfortunately, what was shipped isn't the quality I expected.
The replacement mug I purchased has a big pit on the handle, and is not straight-sided like the listing mentions, or how my original mug looked.
Because I'm not a potter, I'm wondering if this is normal quality to expect? Is it fair to ask for an exchange? I don't really know what the quality standards are for pottery, and understand handmade items will have differences. If it was just the lack of straight sides, I'd probably let it go, but the pitting on the handle is not something I want to feel when I hold the mug. Please let me know if it's fair to ask for an exchange. Thanks!
