Scolopendra Sp Fénix

They’re only a juvenile so this is not what they will look like as an adult, I’m loving their coloration

Deflect > mikiri

I love hitting a perfectly deflect so I don’t interrupt their attack sequence and can just continue to deflect and perfect deflect, the dance is what makes this game fun for me, I urge you to try and beat him without the mikiri, it’s a worthwhile challenge

Female xenesthis immanis in terrible condition

I just have a few questions to ask everyone here, how long would you expect it to take for this species to develop such a shrunken abdomen? Weeks? Months? Half a year? Xenesthis are relatively hardy spiders and very heavily bodied ones at that, seeing any species of new world terrestrial this skinny is quite shocking to say the least, I got her from an expo and what the vendor told me when I brought up her condition was that she just needed to eat, when I contacted them about her not improving they said that she had been eating regularly up until the point of sale, I’m just not buying that. (they obviously wanted to pass the blame for her condition onto me but I have photos from the expo lol)

-the first 3 photos are from 3 days ago, the 4th photo is on the day I got her, still at the expo a month ago, i immediately put her on paper towels with some water and she appeared to drink immediately

The only lesson here is to never buy an animal from someone when its obviously suffering from some type of issue, no matter how badly you want it, while I can absorb the cash loss I just don’t want anyone making the same mistake and getting scammed outright, it’s surprising to me that they even had her on the table

As to what her condition is, I’m uncertain, she’s shakes like she has DKS but at the same time maintains enough motor function to move around slowly and kick hairs, but she doesn’t eat when offered food, I’ve tried live, pre-killed, and mashed feeders
