This jumping spood looked at the camera at just the right moment 🥺
And then proceeded to scuttle off. Happy hunting little spood!

Second pic is without backstitching and first one is with everything finished. The back is such a nice combo of chaos and order. 😄
Featured in the fifth pic is how I travelled with this kit to work on it wherever. My grandmother once gifted me this little pouch and it's perfect for holding floss, scissors, the folded up pattern and the work itself (not pictured are the needle minder + needle stuck to the pattern inside the folds). Of course only works for these small projects and for stitching in hand. My smallest hoop wouldn't even fit on this piece of 18ct Aida, so it was fine!
Now to wash and iron all three of them. I might get them framed too, well see. :) (the others are on my profile if you're curious; it's a 3 in 1 kit).
I hate how tiny they are because I would love to get a close up for identification! But they're so fast... Had a real swarm here this evening, good luck little bees!

Also sorry for the noise, my partner was folding up the parasol.

The other noise is a frog in someone's garden near to us, he croaks really loudly! 😄 I'm in the Netherlands. Totally off-topic, but if anyone has any idea what kind of frog/toad that could be, I would be much obliged. We've dubbed it 'Koos Haarloos'.
First time spotting a garden bumble bee (_Bombus hortorum_) and my only real picture of it is a literal black and yellow smear. 😂
Location: the Netherlands.
The plant is a 'Greater Celandine' (_Chelidonium majus_, Stinkende gouwe) that just showed up in my garden last year. Turned into an enormous bush this year with flowers since April and the bees have been loving it!
Location: the Netherlands.
Not pictured to not break sub rules: it was clumsily climbing up the stem of a poppy flower that couldn't hold his weight (him flopping over is what caught my eye). I let him climb up on my finger instead where he trodded along.
I then noticed he wanted to get higher up to fly, but his left wing seemed broken when he tried to take off. :( It's the end of the season for them. Hopefully he found a lady this year to make bebbehs with.
I later plopped him on a stem of the climbing hydrangea that we share with the neighbours. Now he's hanging out under a leaf, nicely hidden. That hydrangea is normally a hotspot for Maybugs in our yard this time of year, so hopefully this works for him. But I think he won't be long for this world. Goodbye old man. 🫡
I have two more where she's slowly backing up-and-out of the snapdragon, she really had to work hard on getting that sweet nectar!
Bumblebees having their tushy hanging out is the only reason I planted snapdragons in my garden. 😆
She was cleaning her hiney while sitting on my window frame. As soon as she started cleaning her wings, her beautiful red, metallic butt started shining in the sun! They're tiny, but they're like small jewels flying around!
Location: the Netherlands. It's also almost impossible to tell the exact species. _Chrysis ignata_ is the closest approximation.
