This was sitting on the outside of my sliding glass door, as stated in title I know its a wasp just curios if any one can give me more specifics.
We have yellow jackets around and those are pretty common along with mud daubers but I haven't seen anything like this one.
Edit: this is in northern California, united states, also i looked at the frequently asked bugs and didnt see anything that really matched
This handsome fellow is a Western Sculpted Pine Borer or Chalcophora Angulicollis if you wanna be fancy
found this gal injured in a parking lot, took her home and feed her some sugar water and gave her flowers, she seems to be doing better now :)

Found this cutie hanging out on my kitchen ceiling earlier tonight. They went for a tour of the house but we managed to get them safely back outside. Never seen one in person before, wasn't sure what I was seeing at first. They are an owlfly (probably Ululodes floridanus). Looks like a moth's head and antennae with the wings and abdomen of a dragonfly. Not pictured here but when I first saw them they had their hind wings closed like a damselfly and fore wings sticking straight forward to make an "X" shape. In addition to looking cool, apparently they eat mosquitoes. What an awesome little guy!
