A cute little interactive post to go along with my batch of snails 😋 they are mostly glass snails, with a single Ena montana snail added in

I free handed each of them onto my fabric, then embroidered em with punch needle. I used wool and acrylic yarns, and backed them with a firm felt. They’ve also all got 2 magnets on the backs

I’ve been working on doing more “critters” lately to help fill in empty space on my frames. This includes things like the snails, worms, and some small fish. I’ve really been enjoying it!

A 9” or so tall ladybug I did a few years ago 😃 I finally have 6” version of this design drawn onto one of my current frames so that I can make my first ladybird of the year 🤌 it’s been too long, I’ve been more focused on isopods and pets lately

Finally got around to trimming up this piece after it had been sitting around for more than a month. I ended up busy getting gallery work buttoned up, and then had to get started on commission orders

After watching a video from u/VrindaGold , I’ve been steam pressing my pieces before the backing, and it helps SO much. 10/10 would recommend if your pieces like to curl. Make sure to be careful about how long you hold the iron on your work though, especially if it’s acrylic. Super easy to accidentally melt your art

One of the critters from my latest grouping of art. I’ve been enjoying doing smaller projects, it takes less time and is feels less daunting

I’ve been almost non-stop making punch needle art for the last almost 3 years now, so it gets a little stressful at times 😅 this has helped. I’m also starting the process of learning tambour embroidery, and I’m making it a rule that I can’t sell anything I make with it. Hoping that lets me do things for fun

Reverse progress on my latest pet portrait 🤌 I first draw the design, and then get it onto fabric to start the embroidery. This is the first cat I’ve actually done whiskers on, I typically avoid them to make the rest of the pattern easier to see + to keep from making weak extruding points. Despite this, I really like how it turned out. It’s also the first portrait I’ve done that was mostly black, I usually use a dark gray yarn instead

Another pet commission finished up recently. This sweet girl was the first cat outside of my family I helped to train, and boy do I miss her. What a dear she was

This was my first time using black yarn as my main color, and if I were to do it again, I’d add another gray line to follow the curve of her cheek to define it against the outreaching whiskers. It’s a bit messier than I’d like it to be

My backing tutorial is finally here 🎉🎉 after months of pushing it back, I finally had the time and the motivation to pull through and create one

Back again with another isopod 🪡 sorry for the repeats, what can I say 😂 I’m kinda obsessed w em. I’ve made it a whole ritual when I check their enclosures. I have my headlamp on for better lighting, my cat sits on her bin and gets grass from each new container while I water them, and I have some sort of YouTube essay on in the background

Same goes for the actual embroidery process, I need either a huge line up of YouTube videos, or some sort of show on in the background. Maybe some music on my headphones instead depending on the day

I’ve recently added worms to my portfolio, and I’ve really been enjoying them. I’ve been doodling little fellas to fill up empty space on my frames to help cut down on fabric waste. I typically put pet noses on my empty spots, but they don’t always fit the exact shapes. Freehanding these really opened up my possibilities 🙏

Been on a worm kick lately. Honestly, a big invertebrate kick in general! I’m really enjoying doing these little freehanded critters, and want to keep doing em on empty spots on my embroidery frames

Any suggestions for what I do next? 🤔

Okay I might be obsessed 🤪 I think I’ll be making a lot more of these guys, they’re a great way to help cut back on wasted fabric space

It’s also been great to let go a little bit and free hand designs. I’m usually meticulous, drawing and refining everything digitally before either printing it out to trace the pattern, or cutting it into plastic w my cricut. Just winging it has been great!

Had open space on a frame and freehanded a little worm to fill it up. I really love it and will be using it on my fridge

I went fishing for the first time this year and saw tons of little creatures: worms, damselfly larvae, frogs, slugs, ladybugs and weevils 💖 even a leech. I might have to do some more little guys to follow this direction

Hi all, I’m back again 😃 I am hankering to start tambour embroidery and am trying to find something second hand before getting it new

I currently have embroidery frames, but need just about everything else (tambour or aari hooks, organza fabric, beads and sequins, thread, etc)

Depending on the quantity of goodies you have to offer, I have differing art I can trade! For small things I can do a pet nose, for bigger things I can do a paw or isopod. If you have a bunch of supplies, I can either do several of these options, or do something bigger like a pet portrait

Hi everyone! I’m a punch needle artist who kinda went ham on my isopods this year 😅 After figuring out how to do the craft itself, a rubber ducky isopod was my first ever personal project (and boy have I come a long way since then) I highly recommend the craft!! You could make as many isopods as your yarn stash allows 😂 It’s honestly a really great way to memorize the different species too, spending so much time making art of them has really helped to commit them to memory

I draw all of my own patterns, and find inspiration in a lot of my own personal bins 😃 I have 7 atm and will always be hankering for more. I just need to figure out how to make more space…
