Can removing a dam fix an ecosystem? 🌊

Habitat fragmentation is a major driver of biodiversity decline because split habitats make it harder for animals to move, survive, and reproduce. After the Klamath River's last four dams came down in 2024, researchers used sonar and video to count an estimated 7,742 adult Chinook salmon past the former Iron Gate Dam site, and that number jumped to over 13,300 in 2025. Scientists also documented active spawning in newly accessible habitat and juvenile Chinook using tributaries cut off for over a century.

I am working on a comic strip for a class that includes fish as characters. But before I turn it in I was wondering if any fish would like to comment on this specific frame as I do not intend on offending any members of the Fish Community

Someone asked for another calico video. We have 3 tanks of these. In this particular tank we have blended in some hi fin genetics from a hi fin pure orange female (That did nothing to change the fry she produced unfortunately). We are currently trying to blend in some genetics from a sunset female who you can see here. The goal is to attempt to increase the intensity of the red portion at the rear of the calico bodies. In the other 2 tanks of blue mountain calicos that we have we have kept the genetics pure.

I found it by Clearlake, California. It’s maybe 15 inches in length and the skull is about 6 inches wide.

If anyone has 10+ tanks, im intrigued.

Does anyone know whats wrong with my koi fish? His belly has gotten really large but he still swims like a regular fish. I feel like its a tumor or pregnant.

They look kinda girthy to be chinook but also idk I'm not terribly familiar. Found in Oregon (from a friend, not sure which river unfortunately). Definitely teeth bc they were found in a jawbone.

These are the multicolored, wooden fish. That I've seen when I came to the family dwelling house in Myrtle Beach. However, they are very colorful and they look kind of like real fish.
