Disco canoe?
Hi everyone! I could use a hive mind.
I am hosting my wedding next year and a major craft I’ve fixated on is making a 3-4ft canoe and putting mirror tiles to make a disco canoe!
I’ve done my math and sourced my tiles but I am having a hard time deciding what to make my frame out of.
Materials I’ve though of:
- cardboard and spray foam
- paper mâché
- very large foam sheets (thinking of sourcing an old Lilly pad swim platform and cutting it)
I think the less seams the better which is why I was thinking the foam sheets. But very open to suggestion!
Also will need to hang hull down from an inner hook so it can’t be too heavy to ensure the weight of the tiles isn’t too much.
I’d love to just buy a little 4ft toy canoe but those don’t seem to exist for a price I’m willing to pay… I’ve got a fair amount of craft/build experience but this one has me stumped.

How to preserve shape
I lost my soul dog and need to preserve his paw shape!
I loved to hold his paw when I was falling asleep, and I’ve been using this bandage as a substitute. But the bandage brings back bad memories and I expect that I will lose the shape soon.
I’m a big crafter but I can’t decide the best way to preserve the shape. I don’t need to preserve the bandage or gauze.
To the extent that this matters, we got his paw print but not a clay print. I’m hoping for anything that would allow me to keep the shape of his paw, not the appearance of it.

Looking for some kind of adhesive patch for sewing
I had an idea to incorporate sewing on a painting that is on canvas, and I was wondering if you all may have an idea of what to use for this. I'd like to use some kind of adhesive patch that acts as a stabilizer for the canvas so it doesn't tear when I sew it. I'll put it on the back of the canvas and sew through the front over the patch.
If anyone has any ideas about the best material to use for this, I'd be grateful to hear any.

Project initiation
For context, I am a perimenopausal AuDHD woman. I have been crafting my whole life but lately I cannot seem to get started on anything. I have yarn for crochet, paints, fabric, two sewing machines and an embroidery machine, I can spin yarn, glue anything… but I have been sitting here for three hours trying to decide what to make.
