I made a few things this week. I’m not following a medium or anything, but I wanted somewhere to share what I’ve made. I’ve used watercolor, mixed media, clay with pastels, and alcohol markers.
There is no reference. This was inspired by a book series and the Netflix series “A Series of Unfortunate Events.”
I was so into the midway point, but I hated the end result. What things could I have done differently with everything I already incorporated? Should I have left some of the notes off? Could I have initially placed the book differently? I love the idea, but I think I executed it so poorly.
Canvas- Chinet brand lunch paper plate.
I haven’t been able to create anything for months.
This is inspired by being out of town without my two oldest cats. They aren’t able to do long distance travel anymore.
I know it looks like a goofy raccoon. I’m really not that great at art and I couldn’t be bothered to take too long on reference photos, because I wouldn’t have ever finished the paper plate piece.
Round from Dollar Tree. I painted both sides a green color. Then I bought a font from Etsy and used my Cricut to make a stencil. I alternated between acrylic sealant and thin layers of gold glitter. The moss was purchased at a local craft supply store.
Months later- I’m still very, very happy that I spent time making this. :)
I know that neighborhood speed limits can be a pain. I get it! They were designed to be that speed for a reason. Much like speed zones around stop lights, they are meant to keep you at a speed where you could slow down in time to avoid an accident.
If a child or pet runs into the road in front of you, you are able to stop in time at 30 mph (the posted speed limit). You are gambling at 42 mph.
Side note- I also mean this for the loop headed to Buc-ee’s. If you are speeding you can make it harder for people merging and people turning onto the loop.
I hate to be a Debbie downer (laaaame), but I’m not trying to total my 16 year old car because someone is in a hurry and doesn’t care to follow the speed limits.
