Please help. I'm new to keeping derbys beetles and I don't know what could cause it but her stripes VERY suddenly started to fade, is she sick ? The male I keep with her is fine. I'm having problems finding much info about them (I know how to care for them and everything they need but that's about it)

I started self harming around the age of 10-11 and back then I was doing it when I was sad, overwhelmed, angry, depressed etc.

Rn I'm 20 and medicated, I don't sh actively anymore which I did till maybe 17.

When I sh now I don't have a reason and I don't feel anything when I do it , I just see it the same as any activity that people do. I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

I'm just curious why I do this. I don't think I'm addicted to it.

So one of my roaches aborted her ootheca. Is there anything I should know ? Should I just remove it or leave it there ?

I would love to get to know people who also keep roaches more!

I wanna be able to pick them up but I'm scared of hurting them since they're so tiny (not really tiny for a bug, at least in my country but yk what I mean :D)

But I know people just casually scoop them up and don't seem to be overly careful so I guess I just need some reassurance 😆

So today I bought my babies huge cork bark hide and when I tried to clean and sanitise it with heat I burned it even though I followed instructions and checked on it every few minutes 😭 Is it still safe to use or do I need to throw it away? :/ I tried scrubbing it with a brush and a knife but I can't remove it completely.

Omg I'm so mad at myself it was perfect.

Btw only the top layer of the bark is burnt the rest is fine.

I'm thinking about getting isopods for my MH roaches terrarium. How do I control their population? Do they breed a lot? Do I still need to change the soil and if so then how often ? Are springtails better? and are there any downsides?

Sorry for so many questions :D I just don't really trust searching these things on the internet and rather ask people who have some experience.

Hi, I need some advice about what can I use as a bedding for my roaches. Rn I'm using Coco soil but I have a huge issue, the wood in their terrarium got mouldy (only the parts that are directly touching the soil ) and I had to throw it away.

Can I use something dry and only spray the walls of the terrarium with water for ideal humidity? Could that be enough?(I have a hydrometer)

Or does anybody have a different idea?

I'd really appreciate your help because if I don't act fast the new wood is also gonna get mouldy:(

Btw I don't want to get rid of the wood because they really like it and they hate hides from any other materials.

Would appreciate if you'd share your roaches "what I eat in a week" for inspiration.

Also can I feed my roaches everyday or could it harm them ? I keep them as pets.

Hi I'm new to keeping hissing roaches as pets, before I got them I did my research but I'm afraid that I was misinformed about a lot of things either on the internet (every article says something different) or even by the person I bought them from so I would really appreciate some advice.

Is it okay to wash fruits and vegetables with regular tap water ?

What should I use to clean their enclosure and is it okay if I also rinse it with tap water after?

What humidity is ideal ? I read that it's 60-80% (they had like 70-75%) but I'm changing their soil for the first time and I noticed the wood I got them from pet store is mouldy :(
