Has anyone ever put their compost in with their hissers?

I have a big colony of 10 or so adult hissers and a bunch of nymphs, plus a massive colony of buffalo beetles.

Would it be safe to use hissers as a composting helper? I was thinking of putting in mealworms or isopods or something.

Scientists developed the first Cockroach diving suit that actually works, a roach managed to survive 3 hours straight under water.

What could we need this cyborg roach for though.

Other than exploration for tight rocky spaces.

Need inspo!:)

Would appreciate if you'd share your roaches "what I eat in a week" for inspiration.

Also can I feed my roaches everyday or could it harm them ? I keep them as pets.

Couldn’t get a photo of Rico so I drew her

I was just checking on all of them and when I tried to place her down she wouldn’t let go.

any keepers with a cockroach allergy?

i have some pet tarantulas and i keep dubia roaches to feed them. ive grown to really like keeping a roach colony, and i was thinking of getting a pet species. i just think theyre so neat, i love watching them eat and its so cute seeing them after a molt. however, i am really allergic to cockroaches. i change out my dubia’s food and do whatever other maintenance is needed, night. i always walk out of the room coughing and i cant breathe through my nose, and my face turns red. im currently looking for food source alternatives for my tarantulas because of my allergy. but its hard for me to part ways with my dubia colony because i like them a lot. i was hoping there was a species i could keep as a pet that doesnt bother my allergy as much

I need advice

Hi I'm new to keeping hissing roaches as pets, before I got them I did my research but I'm afraid that I was misinformed about a lot of things either on the internet (every article says something different) or even by the person I bought them from so I would really appreciate some advice.

Is it okay to wash fruits and vegetables with regular tap water ?

What should I use to clean their enclosure and is it okay if I also rinse it with tap water after?

What humidity is ideal ? I read that it's 60-80% (they had like 70-75%) but I'm changing their soil for the first time and I noticed the wood I got them from pet store is mouldy :(

is this an ok set-up for two male hissers?

I'm getting two male hissing cockroaches one black tiger hisser and one Madagascar hisser and i have a pretty well cluttered 5 gallon tank for them with at least 4-5 large hides and a few tiny ones but i don't know if this will be enough to keep them happy and not stressed.

chalky roach?

hello, my mhr noeli has some moldy chalky looking substance on her. Its been about 2 days and this is what she looks like?

Doing some research ive seen very few other people talk about this, i think it has to do with her mites not cleaning as well as theyre supposed to.

any advice would be really great im so worried about her.

Potential problem

Hello all...

Was wondering if I could get some help. So I have a colony of dubia roaches I rear for my tarantulas. Well a year back I got "islander roaches" from petco and added them in to see what would happen. Most died but 2 became Madagascar roaches. They never bred in the dubia tub and I felt bad they were just two of them stuck with a bunch of smelly stinky dubia.

So I did what any normal person would do and released them into my indoor greenhouse. I havent seen them and months and just hope they lived their life and died.

Well my cat got into my plant room today and start playing around in a corner and I heard a hiss... that's weird. I open up the area where she was playing and lo and behold... my hisser with a fresh clutch of babies crawling everywhere.

I sorta freaked bc they were super fast and I panicked. My question for yall is... is this okay? Should i try and capture them or is it okay to let them colonize the green house?

I have 0 xp with hissers.
