Hello, I’m seeking advice for a problem I’ve been having. I have a sharp pain on my last bottom right molar. I think it’s the 32? I have this really sharp pain mostly in the mornings and nights. Sometimes during the day if I bite down. I’ve had this pain for almost a year, after a filling was done on the upper molar, not sure if it’s related. I went to my dentist and he said it might just be me grinding my teeth at night. There was a very small abscess on the Xrays on the molar that hurts. He said I should try a mouth guard for about a week if not he might do a root canal but he’s hesitant because he thinks it might just be teeth grinding. My following appointment is on Monday, it’s been a week using my mouth guard and it still hurts, should I just go for the root canal?
