So my wife and I went out last night. Went to a different town to a small little restaurant.

So we have this bad habit where we shit talk each other. It all jokes and when we’re in public, we typically try to do our shit talking quiet. Well, I guess this time I or we weren’t very quiet.

So we were enjoying our appetizer, waiting on our food and just hanging out, having a good time. Then she started with the shit talk because I accidentally missed my mouth with some of the cheese. So of course, I joke back. That our marriage. We make jokes and we like it that way. So after a few minutes of shit talk, the woman running the restaurant came out and said, “That’s enough.” and started taking our things off the table.

I asked her what was going on and she says “You’re treating your wife like shit!” I tried to explain to her that the way we talk is all jokes and it’s just a way we have fun, flirt, etc. she wasn’t having it. She refused to serve us any more. I asked her if we could pay for the drinks and appetizers and she refused payment as well and kicked us out of the restaurant. I looked at my wife and asked her to please confirm that we do this all the time and she looked away and to the floor.

Listen, I know my wife is the non-confrontational type. Always has been. But this made me look awful. It made me look like a bad person and besides the fact that it embarrassed the hell out of me, it made me look like a bad dude in front of everyone.

We got to the car and I asked her why she wouldn’t defend me and she just straight up wouldn’t answer. The entire way home she didn’t answer me and it made me very upset. I’m hoping there’s a woman or maybe a counselor or something on this page who may be able to help me understand a little better why she threw me directly under the bus in this situation. All we were doing was having a good time and doing our little shit talk we do and I was made to look like a bad guy and an awful person and my wife did absolutely nothing to defend me. Someone help please.
