Just finished rereading the Potter series and wanted to do a ranking. Note that there are NO bad books imo.
- HBP — This book is a masterpiece. Good blend of mystery and comedy. I love the Potions/Half-Blood-Prince and Quidditch story lines, and of course, the Voldemort flashbacks.
- DH — The start is a bit slow, but then it really picks up, lots of action while they are hunting Horcrux’s. You learn about the Hallows and more about Dumbledore’s past. It brings out all the emotions near the end.
- GoF — Probably the most fun book in the series with a darker finish and one of the best plot twists.
- PoA — I like this book a lot. It feels like the first time the story starts to deepen, with the Marauder’s backstory.
- CoS — I wish I could read this book for the first time again, not knowing what will happen. Really fun plot and a good mystery.
- PS — Good introduction to the series and the magical world.
- OotP — The beginning and parts of the middle are way too slow for me. I really enjoy the DA sections, and the battle between Dumbledore and Voldemort is a banger.
