My dad is working on my brothers old 2005 Jeep Liberty to fix a few minor issues.

The AC doesn’t seem to work on 1 and 2 of the four speeds. A quick google search says this is a failed blower motor resistor.

So he bought a new one and I was helping him put it in. I don’t know if someone else was messing with it, because the little red retention clip was broken. We had to get some slack on the wires, remove the module whole, and separate it then.

We installed the new resistor from O’Reillys that was supposed to match. Tested it, and now we only have air on 4. Three is dead.

Put the old one back in and have air on 3 and 4 again.

Any ideas as to what to try next?
