I need help or a second opinion with Killian Decisive Mentor.
Hey everyone.
I’ve been trying to tune my Killian, Decisive Mentor deck for a really long time, but I still feel like I can’t get it quite right for stronger Bracket 3 tables.
The idea is to play it more like control/midrange, not voltron, but I constantly struggle with:
- balancing the number of auras and creatures
- figuring out the mana base/ramp
- and especially finding consistent ways to actually close games
I’ve tried some win lines with Warren Soultrader / Phyrexian Altar together with Caretaker's Talent, copying Caretaker’s level 2 with Adagia, Windswept Bastion / Ondu Spiritdancer and using token generators like Ghostly Dancers / Hallowed Haunting together with Screams from Within + Altar.
I got those combo ideas from some YouTube videos and while the deck does some cool stuff, I still don’t feel like it can really keep up with strong Bracket 3 decks.
I’m also unsure about cards like No Mercy, not sure if they’re actually worth the slot here.
What would you change?
