Bengal and Newborn

Hello!

I was just curious about what to expect. I'm 36 weeks pregnant. Our cats so far don't care about any of the changes, our Bengal actually loves the nursery furniture.

Like most bengals, he's loud and chatty, especially as we're falling asleep or waking up. He's also very cuddly at all times. I was wondering, those of you who've had babies with Bengals, how did it go with their chatting? Did they learn and adjust to be quiet around the sleeping newborn? Or did your baby just get used to the sound?

Either way we'll be fine, just interested to see which way it may go.

Currently 35 weeks pregnant. For the last 6 weeks, I've been dealing with uncontrolled seizures. It's uncommon, but sometimes, usually in 3rd trimester, pregnant women can have a big change in body fluid volume, metabolism rate, and liver enzyme function, which effects medication. I unfortunately hit the trifecta and my meds completely stopped working.

My baby is fine and my seizures are improving, but it's been a ride. I was hospitalized for a weekend when it first started, and I was seizing multiple times an hour. Neurology took the lead, and pretty much refused to do anything other than a tiny med adjustment. Over the next 10 days, the seizures were just as bad, until I had one that lasted 10+ minutes. My husband called EMS at 5 minutes, it just took time for them to get there and administer rescue meds.

In the ER, I was chatting with my nurse about the situation. He was very frustrated for me, and told me this time, to tell everyone that asks how I feel that I don't feel safe going home.

It worked so well. They kept me until they finally made some major changes and I saw some improvements, and genuinely felt like I would be safe at home with just my husband.

TL;DR- If you're in the hospital, and feel like you're being pushed out, tell them "I do not feel safe at home". And ask for it to be put in your chart. Legally they have to include it. You can even include why you feel unsafe. But there is a lot they must go through to discharge a patient who does not feel safe going home.
