How much money actually gets you a good guitar and from what price point up do you get diminishing returns?

I personally cannot notice the difference between lets say a 400€ guitar and a 1500€ guitar as long as both have decent fretwork, intonation etc.

i know that there are small differences in things like finish quality and i get ppl who dont want to mod their instruments, but even then there are guitars with ss frets, locking tuners, brand pus,...

is for example a usa built prs really just an aesthetic choice/status piece?

2 specific scenario disclaimers:

- i know evertune bridges are costly

- i know there are people who believe in tonewood
