Chase freedom rise process

I heard if you open a checking account and put $250 in your approval rate increases to get the rise card. My question, is there any fees and/or cons to immediately closing the checking account once you’re approved for the credit card? I already have a bank that I like but just doesn’t have any CC offers that work for me.
