Temporary fix after getting electrical mast removed

I know the long-term solution is to remove shingles plug up the hole, put ice and water on and reshingle. But for temporary solution how do I keep water from getting in through the neoprene boot?

Update: thanks for all the advice and life hacks. Not sure if this will work, but I removed the rubber boot, and cut a piece of 3 and 1/2 in tin and use roofing cement to secure in place. We'll see how long it lasts. It's not a huge deal because the electrical mast just went through my soffit through the roof so it was never really in danger of water getting inside the house since it was a fixed to the exterior.

I'm looking at having a company install 340 linear feet of 4 foot high of 3-rail black decorative aluminum or steel fence. Aluminum would be 2" posts, 1" rails, 5/8" pickets. Steel would be beefier. We are mainly getting our backyard fenced in because our dog started having seizures and he no longer remembers his lot boundaries. From what I'm told, steel decorative fences have come a long way, but I'm still concerned about spending $20,000 on a fence and have it rust 10 years down the road. Any advice anyone could add would be appreciated. Thank you!

I have quotes that range from $16,000 to $28,000 but the more expensive option was for a "puppy" fence where the lower 18" is more narrowly spaced, but it adds a lot to the cost.

Long story short, our red bone coon hound had roughly four seizures over the past month, with the last one being yesterday. With the advice from this group and our vet, we stopped the Simparica after the first seizure Now what do we do to prevent heartworm? Do we switch to Heartguard or is there another brand that is good? Also, what are people doing for flea and tick prevention? We live southeast Wisconsin and the ticks are pretty plentiful. We were going to try a flea collar, but he sleeps with us and it seems there is too much downside to a collar if you do. I'd rather not do the topical, but I feel there is not a lot of options out there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
