Interested in purchasing a house in a flood zone with the intent to raise it above BFE or similar measures to lower insurance + prevent flooding. I was curious if anyone had experience or any stories about this has gone for others in the area.

Did it end up being more trouble than it was worth? Or were there other common pitfalls that caused problems down the line? Any information is useful!
