Historic Kenwood vs Uptown vs Roser Park for walkable lifestyle in 20s?
Hi! My boyfriend (22M) and I (23F) are planning to move to St. Pete this fall and have been doing a lot of research on neighborhoods. Our budget is around $350k, and after looking at condos downtown, we’ve realized the HOA fees are more than we want to spend monthly.
We’ve started looking at neighborhoods like Historic Kenwood, Historic Uptown, Historic Roser Park, and Greater South Central. They all seem to have houses that are nicer than the apartments we had been looking at for more affordable prices.
Our biggest priorities are walkability to coffee shops, restaurants, and bars and being around other people in their 20s.
For those who live in these areas:
-Which neighborhoods feel like they have the youngest population?
- Do many people in their 20s actually live outside of downtown, or is downtown where most younger residents end up?
- Are there any neighborhoods we’re overlooking that fit what we’re looking for?
We’ve read through the moving wiki and searched a lot of older posts, but many of them are a few years old, so I was hoping for some more current perspectives.
Thanks for any advice or recs!
