Kings Chicken??

I wanted to get some Kings chicken the other day and when I Googled their location it said they were permanently closed. I saw lots of remarks about them getting shut down by the health department. Well I just drove by and I see an open sign and people walking in, so was it never closed or did they reopen after a health inspection? I'm almost willing to forgo the cleanliness for them honey biscuits so I need to know what's the happity hap

Stuffed a snuffle mat full of bell peppers, butternutsquash and a couple blue berries. He seems to enjoy the enrichment but keeps trying to eat the felt. Idk how they survive in the wild. It's a good thing they're cute 😅

Does your Indo like to be cold or is mine a weirdo?

Since getting him I noticed he prefers the cool side and wouldn't bask if it was over 100° so I set the lamp to 95 and the warm side stays around 90 and the cool side about 80 (my bedroom is usually around 80) last night I kicked ac on and it got to 75 in his tank so I turned the ceramic heater on. Woke up to it being 85 on warm side and just above 75 on cool side. And where was he? Buried in his cave on the cool side which had to be below 75. I've heard the Indonesians have a much higher low temperature tolerance since they're in rainforests which are always rainy and can get kind of cool at night. I guess I shouldn't worry about him as long as he's acting healthy and eating well but I'm curious if anyone else's Indonesian seems to prefer 70- 80s over 90s+? He's always cool to the touch when I pick him up but I rarely see him utilizing his nice warm basking spot so I'm wondering if this is just his personal preference? Is it normal? Should I be worried?

I stopped taking pics when he started falling asleep, but as soon as I was out of his sight he popped out to find me and then kept falling back asleep standing up to look at me. I turned him to face me so he could rest his head, keep me in sight, and sleep comfortably 🥰

These guys are the best

I love how he looks longingly at me after snuggles and worms. I know its because he wants more worms, but I like to pretend he longs to snuggle again 😁

If my AC has to run all day to keep my house at 78°, would it cost significantly more to have it run all day to get to 75°? To me, running is running, but I'm dumb.

Florida, where its hot and humid

ETA: I am a renter so no clue what type of unit it is, it looks like everyone I've seen in Florida, nothing fancy.

I have a few windows that get a tin if sun... I'll get some foil faced insulated boards to see if that helps. Especially for the master which is a converted garage, it doesn't get below 82 in there :( I do have a window unit in that room bc I need COLD to sleep well.

We change our filter monthly. Just did a big deep clean on inside and outside unit, and we definitely noticed some improvement.

I may have been a bit hyperbolic when I said never turns off. It will turn off at night and on overcast days, but not for long. I'm seeing that indicates its likely an insulation issue, which we have little control over.

House is maybe 1200sqft 3/2 and we're pushing $400+ a month for electricity and like damn I set my AC so high bc I'm poor, not bc I like the heat and it's always running anyway and I'm paying that much I should be comfortable.

I appreciate all the responses, this has been super helpful and educational for me :)

I am looking for opinions on the Pinellas Virtual School (from parents and students). My 13yo is starting to really hate school. They are in all AP classes for the gifted program but being a teen is hard.

They have taken a couple classes through PVS to get ahead so I think they can handel it & I work from home so i can monitor. I saw they even have in person meets and field trips, whichis great. I definitely need to make sure they stay socialized and engaged with real the world.

I essentially stopped going to school at 13 (getting into tons of trouble on the streets all day) and got my GED and started college at 16 bc I hated traditional school so much. I think I definitely would have been able to make it through to graduation had virtual been an option. What's to good, the bad, the ugly with PVS?

Working on a new square DAC and I have 1 specific drill color that just won't stick. Could the drills be defective? Could the canvas just not have adhesive where that color is? There was a quarter sized patch with a bunch of this color and a splash of a few others where the whole area wasn't sticky, so I used adhesive on that spot. But everywhere else, all the surrounding drills stick, except for these stupid U's!! I have tried using other colors in those same spots and those seem to stick *slightly* better, which makes me think it may be the drills, but nothing looks off with them. Has anyone experienced this? Any fix or just ask for new drills?

After this little turd peed on me I wrapped them in a towel and it promptly fell asleep on me. I know they don't have people feelings but is it safe to assume it feels safe to fall asleep on me like this?
