Putty/wax

Putty/wax

Is there a big difference between these two? I don't really know what the blue one is; I just have several little jars of it that I've never used. They've been included in just about every kit I've purchased. I have the DAC pen I refill with the pink wax and have just been using that.

Baby steps...

Every day makes a little more, very small, progress... 😬 Hard to stay motivated when there so much confetti 🎊🤡

Alas I will not give up! A little more than half way. Thinking I should start doing smaller sections.

Afraid to start

So I got this canvas a few months ago and I've been putting it off because I'm scared it's gonna end up terrible. It's a 50x50 custom canvas that has a lot of detail but only 18 colors. It's beautiful now but I'm afraid it's gonna look horrible once I start or finish it

What is the point of diamond release paper?

I truly don’t understand the point of release paper. I always just use an exacto or scissors to gently cut the clear film that it comes in. Like never once have I taken off the film all at once. It just seems like a huge waste when you can just segment the piece using the clear plastic that’s already on it

Largest I've ever done.....180x60cm....and 87 colours. Just kitted it up. Have attached a pic of how I sorted my colours (thanks to help from AI)

This is the largest diamond art I have ever done. .....180x60cm....and 87 colours. Just kitted it up. Have attached a pic of how I sorted my colours (thanks to help from AI). Will likely start it next week. The kit came with some super shiny AB drills that almost look holographic

Bored.

Be honest… does anyone else hit the halfway mark on a diamond painting and immediately start fantasizing about abandoning it for a shiny new one? Or am I the only chaos demon here? 😂

Context: I’ve got FOUR gorgeous DACs giving me the side-eye, fully ready to go… while I’m stuck halfway through another one that I swear I loved a week ago. They’re all beautiful, but my brain is out here acting like a kid in a candy store: ‘But what if we started THAT one instead?’ ‘It has glow in the dark drillssssss!”

The moment I try to ‘be responsible’ and power through, it turns into a full-on chore and my soul leaves my body. 😭✨

Please tell me I’m not the only one with diamond painting commitment issues!

✌🏻♥️🌮

Experience with purchases like this?

I've been reading through this sub, and found a lot of diamond painters are comfortable buying from Temu, AliExpress and such.

Feeling encouraged, I started wandering Amazon and found this batch of canvases, 11.8 x 15.7 inch, for about 38 dollars.

Has anyone bought a batch like this, or from this seller? Or is it better just to stick to name brands?

Mountains almost done :)

Have a little bit left of the mountains to do then it’s just the sky which is mostly white on this one.

2nd project done!

This is from the Jonathan Adler x Michaels collab. It was fun for an unusual design, but the color blocking got a little boring after awhile. Also, the drills are a tad too small to cover the icons easily.

WIP Wednesday

Small-ish art gifted to me, 35cm sq. Idk how much I like the rendering, but I’m glad to be on a littler project than my last 70x90cm. Also, back on round drills from the big one being squares. Two photos, flash on and flash off. Strange how flash off seems to show more sparkle?
