Horseback riding

Any places you recommend to do horseback riding? I’ve done the Bradenton beach/AMI horse group and they’re great but it’s an extremely short ride (distance wise). I’d rather do longer on the beach or another trail. It’s just something I like to do for a fun treat. I’m not a professional but I did grow up around horses and riding them on occasion.

How are women getting visible abs?

I’ve been strength training for almost 10 years, and I was very active even before that. I’ve also eaten clean my entire life, and for the past few years I’ve followed an anti-inflammatory diet because of my chronic illness.

I’m a little over 5’7”, 125 pounds, with about 60 pounds of muscle and 18% body fat, so I’m already pretty lean. I do [solidcore] twice a week and strength train at least three times a week outside of that. I prioritize recovery too - I’m in the sauna daily, get enough sleep, stay hydrated, and make sure I’m eating enough protein, fiber, etc.

I am doing tons of weighted ab exercises - progressive overload too. I have some definition, but no more than my naturally skinny friend who’s never worked out a day in her life and has similar lines simply because of her low body fat.

So I’m wondering: am I just never going to have visible abs because of genetics? I feel my core getting stronger, but don’t see it. I’ve worked incredibly hard to rebuild strength from multiple abdominal surgeries. I know it’s a little vain, but I really want visible abs as a “fuck you” to everything my health issues have put my body through, especially everything they’ve done to my core.

Can’t Medically Do Obliques

Hey everyone! I started [solidcore] a few months ago and have really been enjoying it. After talking with my doctor though, I learned that the twisting involved in the oblique work isn’t something I’m able to do because of a few prior abdominal surgeries (medical, not cosmetic). Basically I started noticing that after oblique-heavy classes (we spent 20 minutes doing them the other day 😭), I was having bleeding or severe pain, so it’s not something I can safely push through.

I already committed to a 12-month membership and love the other aspects of class, but my studio doesn’t offer enough Focus50 classes for me to only take those. What are some alternative movements I could do during the oblique portions? And should I let the instructor know each time I take class? It feels a little silly asking, but I’d love to find a way to make it work.

Rollerblading Practice Spots

I’ve seen some good recommendations in this group for places to go rollerblading, but does anyone have any specific places they’d recommend for someone who’s starting out? I literally haven’t skated since I was probably 12 and I know I’m gonna be falling on my butt but there’s only one way to get better at something. I definitely don’t wanna start out at the pier over and away where there’s a million people and obstacles to avoid.

I’m considering getting a membership after taking the intro class through ClassPass, but I’m hesitant for one main reason. Every time I go to purchase it, I check the schedule for the next few weeks and most class times are already booked a month or more in advance. I don’t want to commit to a membership I won’t be able to use if classes are consistently full.

Do you have any advice on how members usually make this work? I know continuing to wait certainly won’t solve the issue…I’m just confused about how people are able to get into classes regularly. I’m only doing 8x a month so it’s not like I need to make it work daily.

It would still be a significant expense for me, so I want to make sure it’s worth it. I really enjoyed the class, and I’ve tried similar studios that I also liked, but they seem to be even more expensive. I’m located in St. Pete, FL (Edge District studio).

TYIA!
