I recently received an offer from Google and I’m trying to understand the hybrid setup in practice.
Throughout the interview process, it was consistently described as a 3-day in-office hybrid model. However, when I followed up with some questions after receiving the offer, it came up that while the official policy is 3 days, in practice the majority of the team tends to come in 5 days a week.
I tried to clarify a couple of times whether sticking to 3 days is actually fine, but didn’t get a very clear answer.
For those who have been in a similar situation — how does this usually play out in practice?
Is 3 days genuinely accepted, or is there an unspoken expectation to be in more often?
This is quite important for me, so I’d really appreciate any honest insights.
