Hi, so I was bumped from a hold down a while back. The regular on the route went on vacation and then put in his notice without coming back from vacation. Our office has two unassigned regulars so after a few weeks I was told by the supervisor and my union steward that I got bumped off my hold down because a regular has to have 8 hours. I understand that, but I was permanently bumped from the hold down which still doesn’t have a regular months later and there have been many other open routes that the unassigned could have been put on during this time.

My understanding was that you could be bumped on a day to day basis if there was nowhere else in the station where the regular could get his eight hours but if there were other open routes he’d be put on those and I’d still have my hold down? Did I get screwed or am I mistaken on the rules?
