GP's refusing HRT administration after radical hysterectomy
Hi, sorry if this rambles but I'm getting really stressed about this entire situation and was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience and if so how they went around it.
Also sorry for formatting, I'm on mobile.
I have been on T since 2019, i was on sustanon at this time.
I was on a blocker too. Due to the pandemic & medication shortages I was on a blocker with no T for a little while and experienced medical menopause.
It was one of the worst times of my life.
After the blocker wore of i was forced to stop HRT because of medical reasons.
Due to life and hostility for being trans I changed GP's.
Once my health stabalised again i went back on T in 2022, this time nebido.
Sustanon did almost nothing for me, no real changes. Nebido was like change over night, eventually settled into a shot every 17 weeks but some medical problems persisted.
These medical problems lead me to having a radical hysterectomy in 2024.
No problems, recovered well, etc.
One of the doctors at my GP's actually fought tooth and nail for 2 years to get me the hysterectomy.
Now the GIC has told me they no longer have the funding to run my blood tests, my gender care has been taken over by a local "[council] health collaboration" with no contact info and my GP's is telling me its not their responsibility either.
The GP's will sign off on my nebido prescription. I have my vial, but they will not inject it until I get the blood tests.
My shot is due in 9 days.
Im getting increasingly stressed that I may have to go DIY. I have a lot of questions I cant find answers on like size needles etc.
Another issue im running into is nebido DIY is very difficult as I can't reach my injection site and have no friends or family and in turn no one to help me do it.
I could potentially try do it myself though I can't really reach the spot on my butt for injection due to limited wrist mobility.
I'm fine with needles and would be able to DIY sustanon no problem, I'm even at the point I would consider gel as I'm really happy with my changes at this point.
My other options are:
try change GP again, hoping there is a one in the area who will be okay.
ask mt doctor about ahared care. the GP's told an ex they'd do shared care a 4 years ago so it might be a possibility.
Anyone been in a similar situation and have any advice on what to do/what to try??
Thank you if you read all this, sorry for grammar, spelling and stuff.
