Bike Lanes as high-speed passing lanes

Yesterday I left my house around 7:30 AM. A few minutes later I was on Willson Street just before the high school's start time. It was 7:36 AM and I was in stop and go high school traffic, headed for Highland Ave. No fewer than eight vehicles couldn't be bothered with waiting and passed me on the right at high speed in a bike lane in front of a school. I, however, didn't break the law, I didn't endanger anyone, I waited in traffic for a whole three minutes and took the left onto Highland at 7:39 AM. Who are these people that are in such a rush and can't wait for three or five minutes? Were they all having medical emergencies? Is passing on the right at high speeds in bike lanes somehow acceptable? How about this: If you're going to be in front of a school house at the school's start or end time, maybe plan for an extra three or four minutes... What bizarre, self-centered behavior.

Here are two covers. The first was done by an amateur with no design experience (me!). When I looked at my cover in a bookstore surrounded by other books it was eye opening. I went to Reedsy, hired a pro and he created the second image. How'd he do? Would you at least reach for it and read the blurb?
