I'm Jason Knapp, a Democrat running in the VA-01 primary. AMA here tomorrow (Friday) at 10 a.m. Leave questions early if you want.

Quick version: I grew up on food stamps and Medicaid, commissioned through ROTC at UVA, and spent 21 years in the Navy flying F/A-18s. Combat tours over Iraq, then NATO headquarters in Brussels and a stint as a Defense Legislative Fellow working with the House Armed Services Committee. Our family home is in Reedville. Primary is Tuesday, August 4.

Full AMA on this sub tomorrow morning at 10.

Putting this up early so questions can start now. Drop yours in the comments and I'll answer it in the thread tomorrow, whether or not you're around when it goes live.

Ask me whatever. Guns. Israel and Gaza. Data centers and what they're doing to your power bill. ICE. Student loans, where I'll probably annoy some of you. Why I'm running against an incumbent who's held that seat since 2007. What I think about big money in politics. What I think our party keeps getting wrong. The stuff that's actually on your mind, not the stuff a campaign wants to talk about.

A few links if you want to read up first.

More useful: I wrote a piece last week on what House Democrats in the minority should be doing with the tools they already have. Discharge petitions, GAO requests, IG referrals, hearings held in the district instead of a committee room. It's my answer to "what would you actually do if you won." https://jasonknappforcongress.substack.com/p/house-democrats-have-the-resources and I also recently wrote a piece on Google's Skye datacenter and the importance of public comments. You can find that here: Google Wants to Fill a Mile and a Half of Creek in Chesterfield. Comments Close Tuesday (tomorrow).

Early voting runs through Saturday. Primary's Tuesday. See you tomorrow at 10.

I'm a precious Ender 3 user, so I know how to disassemble and clean. I do all that and get great flow going again, run a print, get anywhere from 5-50 layers in and the whole thing clogs again. This is on two different heating elements (after I broke the stock one, so 3 total).

Cover is open, running PLA at 220. I've had a bunch of great prints, but this is getting frustrating. Any thoughts?

Also, side note, but fuck this stupid thermistor plug with its tininess. It pops out every single time and shuts off the whole printer which was also my primary light source.
