I’m so tired of people using the excuse of having a “blunt” personality to be flat out disrespectful in social situations. There’s a difference between being straightforward and being a jerk. Walking around a workplace/social setting being intentionally intimidating and cold does not signify a “blunt personality”. Making harsh comments directly criticizing someone while they are having a discussion about a delicate situation doesn’t make you seem “honest”. You aren’t coming across as sharp or noble or whatever you think you’re doing. I hate having to walk on eggshells around these people because if they cross a boundary and you call them out it’s “I have a blunt personality” and they won’t hear you out because any rebuttal is void in their eyes because of their “bluntness”. I’ve seen it in all genders and all walks of life, they’re EVERYWHERE.

I understand that not everyone is a social butterfly and not everyone needs to go above and beyond to be super socially accommodating all the time. Nobody’s perfect socially, but for gods sake have some decorum and read the room.
