Neighborhood or hotel suggestion for my teen's make up camp week?

Hi! I'll be visiting the area for a week in late June while my daughter attends a half day make up camp near Mt Tabor. I've never visited Portland but have been doing neighborhood research and it seems like Hawthorne would be perfect and Alberta might also be fun. We'd like to be somewhere reasonably walkable and with areas a teen might enjoy exploring, and good food/entertainment would be fantastic.

I'm booking SUPER late bc a spot in the camp just opened, and all the AirBnB locations in Hawthorne are at least $1K higher. We are open to hotels but haven't found any in those areas with availability that meets our needs; for some reason the options I've found with suites or larger rooms have a max of 2 and there will be 3 of us. Is it worth spending $$$ for Hawthorne or will Alberta also be awesome? Is there another location I'm overlooking completely? Queer friendly environment needed but hopefully that's a given.

Teen is artistic/creative and loves theater and anime.

My daughter will be visiting in June and she'll have a short homestay and time volunteering in an elementary school. We are looking at gifts for the homestay family, 2 college students, and ~60-70 schoolchildren who she'll be working with on her stay.

For the homestay family (from Shanghai United International School) we were considering See's Chocolates since they are high quality and from California. Are Trader Joe's tote bags still popular in China? We knew a lot of friends who bought many to send to family as holiday gifts.

I don't know where the college students are from but they will join a day during the Shanghai portion of the trip.

The elementary schoolchildren are from Jiangyin. We were thinking about a bunch of decal stickers or candies, but weren't sure about any candies that might be enjoyed.

Would appreciate any advice so we can send some special gifts with her!

My daughter started 20mg in Nov and increased to 30mg in Feb. She's on a low dosage to be mindful of mental health stability so we're leaning towards maintaining that dosage. She didn't have terrible acne to begin with but it was persistant and other treatments weren't effective. She never had a massive purge, and just continued to have some flare ups (which have significantly reduced) during PMS week. She takes fish oil and Loratadine with her Accutane but it seems like the risk of a major purge is over. Should she stpo the Loratadine now? I'm not sure how long people keep that in their routine.
