Hi everyone,

My friend and I are planning a 3 week Northern Vietnam + Hong Kong + Taiwan trip in January 2027, and we’re really interested in doing the Ha Giang Loop (with easy riders).

The only thing stressing me out is the weather 😭 I’ve seen so many TikToks of people going in January and it’s just completely covered in fog with zero visibility and now I’m terrified we’re going to go all the way there and not see anything.

For anyone who’s done the loop in January:

• are there certain weeks/dates in January that are usually better?
• or is it basically foggy all month and you just get lucky/unlucky?
• if it was foggy for you, was it still worth doing?

We’re trying to work out whether to rearrange our order of countries because Ha Giang is a must do for us.
